Hays PLC is an international recruitment agency with headquarters in London. The focus of activity is the recruiting of specialists and managers. The company operates in the private and public sectors and provides specialists for permanent positions, project work and temporary employment.

Company history

The company's roots go back to 1867, when Hays was founded in London as an operator of shipyards and warehouses. Hays acquired the personnel services business, which was founded in 1968 as the Career Care Group , in 1986. Since 1989, Hays has also been listed on the London Stock Exchange.

In 2003, Hays realigned itself and since then has focused exclusively on personnel services. In the same year the acquisition of the competitor Ascena in Germany took place. After numerous expansions in 2011, the company is now represented on four continents in 33 countries with 252 offices and employs over 10,000 people worldwide.

On May 31, 2019, Hays registered the Compliant Sourcing (R) word mark with the German Patent and Trademark Office. The entry was completed at the end of July 2019.

Since 2007, the company has published studies and results of empirical market research that deal with current changes in the work and organizational worlds in Germany, Austria and Switzerland.
