Hey Cui

He Cui (chin .: 何 粹, * 1969 in Changsha ) is a Chinese sheng player, music teacher and producer.

He learned the Erhu game from his father as a child . It was only at the Wuhan Conservatory that he got to know the Sheng, the game of which he had mastered completely at the beginning of his studies at the Beijing Central Conservatory in 1988. He has been teaching here since 1992 and from 1997 to 2007 he was Vice President of Beijing Global Audio-Visual Publishing House , the largest Chinese publishing house for materials for art education. In 2001, he completed an EMBA (Executive Master of Business Administration) degree from the Guanghua School of Management at Peking University . From 2005 he was assistant to the President of the Central Conservatory and since 2009 he has been its Vice-President.

As a Sheng player, He u. a. in Beijing, Wuhan and Guangzhou. For his solo album Phoenix Spread Its Wings he received the honorary award of the International Chinese Instruments Competition in 1995 . From 2002 to 2004 he was a member of Yo-Yo Mas Silk Road Ensemble . On his tours through the USA and Europe he played a. a. Zhao Jiping's composition Moon Over the Guan Mountains and Jia Daqun's The Prospect of Colored Desert .
