Heather Couper

Heather Couper (born June 2, 1949 in Wallasey , United Kingdom , † February 19, 2020 in Aylesbury , United Kingdom) was a British astronomer who was best known in the public for the presentation of celestial television series . In addition to her research work, she also supervised workshops and star tours at the Greenwich planetarium and published over 30 specialist books, some together with her Irish colleague Nigel Henbest .

Her research areas were primarily planetology and the history of astronomy . From 1984 to 1986 she was President of the British Astronomical Association . The asteroid (3922) Heather was named after her.
