Hebersreuth is a desert within the Grafenwöhr military training area in the Upper Palatinate district of Neustadt an der Waldnaab .

history

The place emerged as a clearing settlement and was first mentioned in 1412 as Herbersreuth . The Bavarian original cadastre shows Hebersreuth in the 1810s as a clustered village with twelve properties. In 1912 there were 18 farmsteads and 78 residents in the area. Later, the village together with Dorfgänlas, Frohnhof, Kaundorf , Sommerhau and Zeltenreuth formed the political community of Kaundorf until it was replaced in 1938. Because of the expansion of the Grafenwöhr military training area, Hebersreuth was abandoned between 1937 and 1938 and the residents of the last 27 properties were relocated.
