Hedda Kainz

Hedda Kainz (born June 17, 1942 in Linz ) is a former Austrian politician ( SPÖ ) and chemical laboratory assistant. From 1988 to 2003 she was a member of the Austrian Federal Council and deputy chairwoman of the Austrian Federation of Trade Unions in Upper Austria.

education and profession

After elementary school, Kainz attended secondary school and then learned the trade of chemical laboratory assistant, completing the vocational school at the same time . She entered the service of Chemie Linz in 1961 and worked as a laboratory assistant in various departments of pharmaceutical research until 1988.

Politics and functions

From 1968 Kainz became involved as a works council member of Chemie Linz AG and from 1988 was exempt works council chairman of CL Pharma AG. She was also active as a member of the board of the Chamber for Workers and White-collar Workers for Upper Austria from 1979 and from 1974 acted as Chamber Councilor of the Chamber for Workers and White-collar workers for Upper Austria. From 1987 she was also a member of the Presidium of the Austrian Federation of Trade Unions of the Upper Austrian Provincial Executive and in the same year she became chairwoman of the Regional Women's Committee of the Austrian Federation of Provincial Executive Upper Austria. She also acted as the deputy chairwoman of the ÖGB Upper Austria. Kainz represented the Social Democratic Party of Upper Austria from November 10, 1988 in the Federal Council. From April 15, 1999 to May 9, 2000, she held the position of Secretary of the Federal Council in the Federal Council and was again secretary from July 1, 2000 to October 22, 2003. On October 22, 2003, Kainz finally resigned from the Federal Council.
