Hedwig Günther

Hedwig Günther b. Brosterhues (born November 13, 1896 in Hamburg ; † April 11, 1966 there ) was a Hamburg politician of the Social Democratic Party of Germany (SPD) and a member of the Hamburg Parliament .

Life

Hedwig Günther did a commercial apprenticeship. Up to their wedding in 1923, she worked as a clerk and accountant operates. During her time as a member of parliament, she was listed as a housewife in the files of the citizenry.

From 1911 to 1914 she was a member of the Workers' Youth Association. From 1918 to 1933 she was continuously on the state executive committee of the SPD. In 1928 she became a member of the board of the SPD's women's action committee. After the takeover of the Nazi regime, it was taken in 1933 in Hamburg for a week in custody.

She then worked for the Social Democratic Party after the National Socialist era as a cashier and advisor. She sat from October 30, 1946 to 1957 as a member of the Hamburg Parliament. There she was, among other things, secretary. From 1947 to 1953 she was a deputy of the school board.
