Hedwig Haudum

Hedwig Haudum (* 1920 in Vorderweissenbach , † 1990 in St. Veit im Mühlkreis ) was an Austrian composer , local poet, dialect writer and songwriter.

Hedwig Haudum created more than 160 songs and just as many poems. The work mainly comprises folk and native songs from the Mühlviertel and Bohemian Forest , spiritual songs and children's songs. For example, the songs Mei liabs Mühlviertl , Mei liabs Oberösterreich , I am a Mühlviertla and the Advent song Let us in come from her .

Recordings of some of the songs by the Mühlviertel folk musicians "Sternstein Duo", popular in the 1970s and 1980s, exist. Bayerischer Rundfunk and the Tölzer Knabenchor, under the direction of their grandson Clemens Haudum, produced a program with a recording of one of their Advent songs, which are part of the choir's repertoire.
