The last student prison in Heidelberg's history was located at Augustinergasse 24 and served as a prison for students at the Ruprecht-Karls-Universität Heidelberg . Today it is attached to the Old University of Heidelberg as a museum, part of the University History Museum .

In the 14th century the university had its own jurisdiction

With the establishment of a student prison in the 16th century, prison sentences became common. The entrance to the student prison is at Augustinergasse 24, not far from Universitätsplatz in Heidelberg's old town. It can be visited together with the University Museum, Entrance Universitätsplatz, Grabengasse 1.
