Heidenreich of Brandenburg

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Heidenreich von Brandenburg († 1291 ) was Bishop of Brandenburg from 1287 to 1291 . He belonged to the Premonstratensian Order .

Life

Before he was ordained as Bishop of Brandenburg, Heidenreich von Brandenburg was Provost of Brandenburg. He was officially registered as Bishop of Brandenburg on June 23, 1287, so his election and consecration must have taken place immediately after the death of his predecessor Gebhard von Brandenburg on April 11, 1287. He attended the reception of King Rudolf in mid-December 1289. The last written mention is dated February 26, 1290. His death was probably at the end of 1291. In a papal mandate to the Provost of Brandenburg on January 5, 1292, the vacancy of the Diocese of Brandenburg is mentioned.
