The Heidensee is a lake in the urban area of Plau am See in the Ludwigslust-Parchim district , Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania .
The oval lake, which widens towards the south, has an area of 8.6 hectares with a length of 490 meters and a width of 250 meters. The lake is supplied with water via ditches from the north and west, including from the nearby Lebersee ; It is drained via a ditch to the Plauer See , only 120 meters away , which crosses under the federal highway 103 running in between .
While the north-east bank of the Heidensee borders on arable land, the other banks are surrounded by meadows and the south-west corner by a group of trees. In the south there is the farm of the Hufe IV of the village of Quetzin further south-east as well as a settlement with a show beekeeping and a bee museum.
A disused section of the Güstrow – Meyenburg railway line runs past the lake to the west.
