Heidrun Wiesenmüller

Heidrun Wiesenmüller (* 1968 in Nuremberg ) is a German library scientist. She has been professor for library and information management at the Stuttgart Media University since 2006 .

Life

Heidrun Wiesenmüller studied history, English philology, books and librarianship and Middle Latin at the University of Erlangen and the University of Newcastle upon Tyne from 1988 to 1994 and obtained her master's degree . From 1994 to 1998 she was a research assistant at the Institute for English Philology and at the Institute for History at the University of Erlangen. Wiesenmüller completed her library traineeship for the senior service at academic libraries from 1998 to 2000. From 2000 to 2006 she worked as a specialist assistant at the Württemberg State Library in Stuttgart. During this time she was also in charge of the regional bibliography department and the maps and graphics department. She was also the head of the subject catalog. Since 2006 she has been Professor for Library and Information Management at the Stuttgart Media University . Her subject areas are formal indexing , subject indexing and historical collections. Wiesenmüller is active in the Southwest Regional Association of the Association of German Librarians (VDB) and was chairwoman there from 2008 to 2016. She is also the managing editor of the open library journal o-bib.
