Heikki Mikkola
Heikki Antero Mikkola (born July 6, 1945 in Mikkeli , Finland ) is a former Finnish motocross racing driver and four-time world champion .
Career
Mikkola won the first title in 1974 in the 500cc class on a Husqvarna against Roger DeCoster , the dominant driver of the 1970s, and thus became the first Finnish world champion in this sport. In 1976, he became the first driver to win the world championship in the 250s after winning a 500cc title. In 1977 Mikkola moved from Husqvarna to Yamaha and won two more titles in the 500 cc class in 1977 and 1978, before retiring from active sport after finishing fifth overall in 1979 at the age of 34.
