Heiko Müller (politician)

Heiko Müller (born January 24, 1959 in Berlin-Spandau ) is a German engineer and politician ( SPD ). He has been mayor of Falkensee since 2007 and was previously a member of the Brandenburg state parliament .

Life and work

After graduating from the Advanced High School in Falkensee in 1977, Müller initially did basic military service with the National People's Army (NVA). In 1979 he began studying mechanical engineering and marine technology at the Wilhelm Pieck University in Rostock , which he completed in 1984 as a graduate engineer / ship designer. He then worked as a research designer and software developer at the Staaken plastic processing plant until 1990.

From 1990 to 1992, Müller was a software developer in a computer company in Potsdam and from 1992 to 2000 managing partner of a company in the computer industry. From 2000 to 2007 he was managing director and owner of a software company.

Political party

Müller first joined the New Forum in 1989 , switched from there to the SDP and finally became a member of the SPD. From 1992 to 1994 he was chairman of the SPD local association in Falkensee.

MP

Müller was a member of the Nauen district council from 1990 to 1993 and was elected to the Havelland district council in 1993 . In both parliaments he acted as chairman of the SPD parliamentary group. He was a member of the Brandenburg State Parliament from 1994 until his resignation on October 31, 2007. From 1999 to 2007 he was chairman of the economic committee. After Müller's resignation, Ravindra Gujjula moved up to the state parliament.

Public offices

Müller has been mayor of the city of Falkensee since November 1, 2007.
