Heiko Petersen (born July 30, 1980 in Flensburg ) is a former German soccer player .

Career

The midfielder learned to play football at the small club TSV Glücksburg 09 and later moved to Flensburg 08. His career began at Holstein Kiel, where he played from 1999 to 2001. He rose with Kiel in 2000 from the Regionalliga Nord in the Oberliga and left the club after the recovery , which had been achieved a year later.

After a season with VfL Osnabrück , also playing in the Regionalliga , Petersen moved to VfB Lübeck , with whom he played in the 2nd Bundesliga for two years until 2004 , where he made 28 appearances. After another year with the southern regional division TSG 1899 Hoffenheim , Petersen moved back to his previous club Holstein Kiel, where he played until 2011. With KSV Holstein in 2008 he managed to move up from the Oberliga Nord to the Regionalliga and in the following season 2008/09 even made it through to the 3rd division . Petersen let his career end in the Kiel reserve team.

Petersen studied law parallel to his football career and is now the legal advisor of Holstein Kiel.
