The Catholic Heilig-Geist-Kirche is a church building at Pideritstrasse 12 in Lemgo , a town in the Lippe district ( North Rhine-Westphalia ).

History and architecture

The reinforced concrete structure on a square floor plan was built from 1966 to 1967 under the supervision of Joachim G. Hanke . The bell tower of the hermetically sealed, brick- clad cube stands free. The interior appears spacious. The floor slopes down to the liturgical area in the northeast corner. The unusual room concept is supported by the ceiling construction with light strips. In relation to the floor plan , the ceiling props form a square placed at a corner. The traces of formwork on the concrete walls were left visible. The color concept was developed by Otto Herbert Hajek . To the north of the church is the uniformly planned parish hall with crenellated concrete walls raised over the flat roof .
