The Heilig-Geist-Spital in Aichach , a town in the Aichach-Friedberg district in the Bavarian administrative district of Swabia , was founded in 1354 by Konrad der Werder and his wife Elisabeth. The former hospital at Stadtplatz 35 is a protected monument .

history

The certificate of confirmation for the foundation was issued on June 7, 1354 by the Augsburg Bishop Marquard I. von Randeck . In 1362 an endowment was made by Conrad Erb and his son Stephan. Whether the location of the hospital was on the town square from the beginning or was originally in the upper suburb has not been finally clarified.

The two-storey gable building with a gable roof that still exists today was built in the middle of the 17th century. The facade has been renewed many times.

The 15th century hospital church of the Holy Spirit was restored in 1642/43. The tower was built in 1734 and 1789 respectively.
