Aichach town square
The town square is an ensemble of buildings in Aichach , the district town of the Aichach-Friedberg district in the Bavarian administrative district of Swabia .

The elongated town square, with its delimitation by the upper and lower gate and with the town hall as the center, forms the core of the old town of Aichach.
The 330 meter long road axis runs from south to north, it served as a traffic, trade and market route. It is located at the intersection of the old trade and post routes Augsburg - Regensburg and Munich - Donauwörth . After their union, the trade routes cross the city together in front of the city gates .
The town square is predominantly built on with bourgeois gabled houses from the 17th and 18th centuries. It gives the impression of unity, which is additionally emphasized by the closure of the square by the two city gates. The dominant feature on the eastern side is the Holy Spirit Church of the former hospital . The paved street is divided around the elongated structure of the baroque town hall with its volute gables . The residential and commercial buildings, some with flat bay windows , are typical of a bourgeois small town with trade and commerce.
