Upper Gate (Aichach)
The Obere Tor in Aichach , the district town of the Aichach-Friedberg district in the Bavarian administrative district of Swabia , was built around 1418. The city gate at Stadtplatz 46 is a protected monument .
history
The pilaster-structured octagon with a curved dome over a square substructure was built around 1418. The construction by Andreas Adler dates back to 1697. The semicircular southwestern extension with a staircase was built in 1865. The eastern pedestrian passage was created in 1941. The tower keeper's apartment was on the upper floor .
