Kemalpaşaspor is a Turkish football club from Kemalpaşa in the province of Izmir . The club is best known for its five-year season in the 3rd division .
history
Early years
The club was founded in 1954 and for a long time it eked out in the regional amateur leagues of the province of Izmir. In 1984 they played in the third division for the first time, making Kemalpaşaspor a professional football club for the first time in its history. The first season in the 3rd division was finished penultimate and with the 13th place, while Kemalpaşaspor in the following season 1985/86 formed the bottom, it is noteworthy that the team could not win a game and could only show five points. Since there was no relegation in the 3rd division at this time, Kemalpaşaspor was allowed to continue playing in the league.
Before the beginning of the 1986/87 season , the Turkish Football Association stipulated that the last two of each group must be relegated from the league, now it was "serious" for Kemalpaşaspor. In the 1986/87 and 1987/88 seasons Kemalpaşaspor was able to prevent relegation, but the adventure of the 3rd division was then over in the 1988/89 season for Kemalpaşaspor: 27 points were too few for staying in class, the club rose as last (16th) place and said goodbye - until today - to professional sport.
Modern times
Since then, Kemalpaşaspor has played in regional leagues, in the 2013/14 season of the İzmir Süper Amatoer Lig (6th league) the club had to relegate to the İzmir 1. Amatoer Lig after a disappointing season with nine points and, again in last place,. In the 2014/15 season the fourth place was achieved, in the following season 2015/16, however, they were sixth place, which meant relegation to the İzmir 2. Amatoer Lig.
