Holy Cross Chapel (Haldem)
The Holy Cross Chapel is a chapel in the Stemweder village of Haldem . It was built in the second half of the 15th century .
architecture
The chapel is a small hall building with a rectangular floor plan. The gables are designed in half-timbered construction. On the western part of the gable roof there is a ridge turret in which the bells are located.
The wooden beam ceiling dates from 1621, the windows are flat arched and bricked up on the west side.
Furnishing
The altar of the Holy Cross Chapel contains parts of a late Gothic carved altar from the time the chapel was built, the second half of the 15th century. They show scenes of the passion .
The octagonal wooden pulpit, also late Gothic , was made in the 16th century. It is equipped with five carved tracery fields.
