Floribert I of Liege
Floribert I ( French Floribert de Liège ; † around 746) was Bishop of Liège from 727 until his death .
Floribert was the son of Hubertus , Bishop of Liege. He followed his father as bishop in 727. At the beginning of his episcopate, around 728, the sisters Harlinde and Erlinde founded the Alteneik monastery. Floribert increased the number of canons at St. Lambert's Cathedral from 20 to 30. On November 3rd, 743, in the presence of Karlmann, the bones of St. Hubertus of Liège were raised. Floribert died on April 25, 746 and was buried in St. Lambert's Cathedral. The Catholic Church venerates him as a saint. His feast day is April 25th (27th) and November 1st in the Diocese of Liège.
