The statue of St. John Nepomuk is located in Oer-Erkenschwick at the intersection of the paths to Flaesheim , Ahsen , Haltern and Sinsen in the middle of the Haard . Johannes Nepomuk is a bohemian martyr. The statue has been here since 1766. It was donated by the widow of the chief hunter Petrus Thomas Binsfeldt, who is said to have been attacked and fatally injured here by a huge dog. The Oer Warrior Association had the small chapel built in 1921. Chapel and statue are since June 9, 1992 preservation order . In 2017 the statue was renovated.

The inscription - partly incorrectly restored - reads:

"If o man your eyes are
wetted, the need struggles through sell and heart
is you took and
honored hurts gnaws the sins
so let grave
worries go st Joan nimb to the patron
He will beg for help for you
Bey the rich mercy seat "
