Ahsen is a district of the city of Datteln in the Recklinghausen district . The place lies between the Wesel-Datteln-Kanal and the Lippe , east of the Haard .
history
The place was first mentioned in the 13th century in connection with the founding of the church and a ferry across the Lippe. Since the beginning of the 19th century the rural community belonged to the Datteln office ; In the course of the municipal reorganization , the place was incorporated into Datteln on January 1, 1975.
Infrastructure
In Ahsen there is a double lock, the Ahsen lock , and the SV Borussia Ahsen eV football club. The Ahsen primary school was closed at the end of the 2012/13 school year due to falling student numbers.

The district is connected to the A 2 via junctions in Recklinghausen and Castrop-Rauxel . Furthermore, on the L 612 , the A 43 and A 52 reachable. From Ahsen, the federal highways B 235 and B 58 can be reached in a few minutes by car. The Lippe Bridge shortly before Ahsen is permanently closed to all types of vehicles, including bicycles, due to bridge damage. The alternative Lippe bridges mean big detours.
