Heimenhofen or Haim Hofen 's name was one of Heimenhofen in Westallgäu originating Swabian noble family .

history

In 1258 a Heimenhofer is mentioned for the first time with Helnhart de Haiminhoven as a witness in Weißenau. Other mentions are a von Haimenhoffen, who witnessed the sale of Staufen in 1311 and witnessed the sale of an estate in Wolmuts to the Mehrerau monastery in 1314 . In 1325 this witness was when those from Kirwang renounced goods in Gessertshausen , which went to the Augsburg Cathedral .

Marquard von Heimenhofen is the first Heimenhofen resident to be mentioned by full name with the foundation one day after Grünenbach in 1346. He had little land and a lot of cash. After his death, his sons Oswald and Marquard bought the southern part of the Rettenberg estate from Adelheid von Waldburg for 2040 pounds pfennigs Konstanzer Münze in 1351. They moved their seat from Heimhofen to Burgberg Castle . In 1359 they gave up Tannberg and Mittelberg . In 1361 they divided the area. The rule Heimenhofen zu Burgberg went to Marquard and the rule Heimenhofen zu Berghofen to Oswald. Oswald began building his new Fluhenstein Castle .

Benz von Heimenhofen zu Hohentann bought the Hohentann estate in 1413 and shared the property with his brother Ulrich. Benz offered the Dukes Willhelm III. and Ernst his services to and in 1407 against the Appenzeller. In 1417 his property was seized. After his death, his sons Hans, Rudolf and Ärginger were under the tutelage of his brother Ulrich von Heimenhofen zu Berghofen. Together they made themselves available to the Bavarian dukes in 1427.

With the childless death of Heinrich, Melchior and Hieronymus in 1498 the line of Heimenhofen zu Hohentann in the male line became extinct. Buyers of the remaining goods were, among others, the Isny family Messnang, the Laubenberger and the German Order .
