Heiner Heseler

Heiner Heseler (born August 2, 1948 in Essen ) is a German economist and was a Bremen State Councilor ( SPD ).

biography

After graduating from high school, Heseler studied economics at the University of Frankfurt am Main and the University of Bremen in the 1970s . He received his doctorate as Dr. rer. pole. in Bremen and was then from 1979 to 1984 research assistant at the University of Bremen.

From 1984 to 1991 he was head of the research transfer office of the cooperation area between the university and the Chamber of Labor (today the Institute for Labor and Economy, IAW) and from 1991 to 2001 its managing director.

From 2001 to 2007 the social democrat was deputy head of the Senate Chancellery of the Free Hanseatic City of Bremen and head of the political department. From 2002 to 2007 he was also a part-time manager of the Bremer Investitionsgesellschaft (BIG).

In 2007 he was appointed State Councilor to the Senator for Economics and Ports as a representative of Senator Ralf Nagel , (SPD) and, since 2010, by Senator Martin Günthner , SPD. After the citizenship election in 2015 , Heseler resigned from his office for reasons of age. In 2016 he became managing director of the Initiative Stadtbremischer Häfen (ISH) as successor to Werner Maywald.

Heseler is married and has one son.
