Heiner Kiebel

Heiner Kiebel (* 1946 / 1947 ) is a German basketball official .

career

From the beginning of the 1980s, Kiebel became involved in basketball in the city of Borken , was active as a trainer and referee as well as on an organizational level. He spread the sport among other things through schools. Kiebel he became head of the basketball department at RC Borken and later at RC Borken-Hoxfeld , which was created in 2009 through a merger of SV Hoxfeld and RC Borken.

Kiebel is credited with having made Borken an "important location for the German Basketball Federation " and having been responsible for bringing regional and national basketball events to Borken and holding them. During Kiebel's tenure, youth basketball and streetball events such as tournaments were held in the town from the end of the 1980s. In 2010 an international match of the German women's national team took place in Borken, later the DBB inspection measure “Talents with perspective” was held several times in the place.

Kiebel, who worked professionally as a primary school teacher, received the badges of honor from the RC Borken and the West German Basketball Association (WBV), and the WBV also awarded him a life coach license.

In April 2015, Kiebel was awarded the Federal Cross of Merit for his commitment to basketball in Borken , and in October of the same year he was also awarded the German Sports Youth Award.
