Heiner Ryssel (* 1941 in Plaue ) is a German electrical engineer .

Life

Heiner Ryssel studied electrical engineering at the Technical University of Munich from 1962 to 1967 . From 1968 to 1972 he was a research assistant at the Institute for Technical Electronics at the Technical University of Munich. Before moving to the Institute for Integrated Circuits at the Technical University of Munich in 1973. From 1974 to 1985 he worked at the Fraunhofer Institute for Solid State Technology in Munich. Heiner Ryssel received the title of Dr.-Ing. and in 1985 the title of Dr. habil. of the Technical University of Munich. In 1985 he was a co-founder of GeMeTec, Munich. From 1985 until his retirement in October 2008, Ryssel held the chair for electronic components at the Institute for Electrical, Electronics and Information Technology at the University of Erlangen-Nuremberg, as well as head of the Fraunhofer Institute for Integrated Systems and Component Technology (IISB), Erlangen Branch offices in Nuremberg and Freiberg.

He is an IEEE Fellow , a member of the Bohemian Physical Society, a member of the Electrochemical Society and the Material Research Society, department head in the ITG (Information Technology Society) and department head in the GMM (Society for Microelectronics, Micro- and Precision Engineering). He has been active in GMM and its predecessor company GME since it was founded.

Ryssel received the Wilhelm Exner Medal of the Austrian Trade Association in 1998 and the Fraunhofer Medal in 2007.
