Heiner Thade

Heiner Thade (born September 15, 1942 in Lüdinghausen ) is a former modern pentathlete from Germany .

Thade passed the Abitur in 1961 at Neheimer Neusprachlichen Gymnasium (today Franz-Stock-Gymnasium ) and then studied languages ​​and sports at the University of Freiburg . From 1973 to 2004 he was a lecturer at the Sports Faculty of the University of Munich and worked there as academic director.

Thade took part in the Olympic Games in Mexico in 1968, in Munich in 1972 and in Montreal in 1976 . In 1969 and 1972 he was German champion in modern pentathlon. In 1973 he was runner-up with the team in London.

Thade lives in the Arnsberg district of Neheim . On December 19, 1972 he was awarded the ring of honor of the then city of Neheim-Hüsten .
