Heinrich Böckelühr

Heinrich Böckelühr (born December 7, 1961 in Schwerte ) is a German politician and civil servant. From October 1, 1999 to October 15, 2017 he was the full-time mayor of the city of Schwerte in the Unna district in North Rhine-Westphalia . Since October 16, 2017, he has been President of the NRW Community Examination Institute based in Herne.

Life

Heinrich Böckelühr grew up with two sisters on their parents' estate in the Ergste district of Schwert . After completing secondary school at the Realschule am Bohlgarten in Schwerte, Böckelühr moved to the Friedrich-Bährens-Gymnasium Schwerte in 1979, where he graduated from high school in 1982. He then did his military service as a temporary soldier with Army Aviation Command I in Münster / Westphalia.

Heinrich Böckelühr studied law at the Ruhr University in Bochum before completing his legal clerkship in the district court district of Hagen with the second state examination in 1998. In the 1996 summer semester, he completed a graduate degree at the German University of Administrative Sciences in Speyer. During his studies, Heinrich Böckelühr worked from October 1990 to April 1997 for the member of parliament, Peter Bensmann (Unna). After his admission to the bar on March 12, 1998, Heinrich Böckelühr initially worked as an independent lawyer in Iserlohn . His admission to the bar is currently on hold.

The state government of North Rhine-Westphalia appointed Heinrich Böckelühr with a certificate dated October 3, 2017, for a period of eight years as President of the municipal examination institute North Rhine-Westphalia.

Political career

Heinrich Böckelühr was already politically active as a schoolboy. From 1976 to 1979 he was a member of the student council (SV) of the Realschule am Bohlgarten, including two years (1977–1979) as a student representative. At the Friedrich-Bährens-Gymnasium, he was the year-class representative and deputy student representative from 1979 to 1982. In October 1976 Böckelühr joined the Schüler-Union (SU), a political youth organization closely linked to the CDU. In 1981 and 1982 he was deputy state chairman of the Student Union of Westphalia-Lippe and a member of the national board of this association.

Heinrich Böckelühr joined the Junge Union (JU) in 1977 and the CDU in 1978, for which he was and is active in various offices. From 1989 to 1998 he was a member of the federal executive committee of the Junge Union Deutschlands, four years of which as federal treasurer. Since November 2010 he has been a member of the state executive committee of the CDU North Rhine-Westphalia.

From May 18, 1988 to September 30, 1999 Heinrich Böckelühr was a member of the city council of Schwerte. Between 1989 and 1999 also chairman of the youth welfare committee of the city of Schwerte and deputy chairman of the CDU council group. Since October 1, 1999, Böckelühr was directly elected full-time mayor of the city of Schwerte. In the first direct election of a Schwerter mayor, none of the candidates in the 1999 local elections received an absolute majority in the first ballot. In the runoff election on September 26, 1999, Heinrich Böckelühr prevailed against his competitor from the SPD with 54.98%. When he was re-elected in 2004, he received 51.44% of the vote. In the local elections in 2009 he received 51.2% of the vote. In the local election on May 25, 2014, Böckelühr was re-confirmed in office with 51.09%.

Heinrich Böckelühr was a deputy member of the Presidium of the Association of Cities and Towns in North Rhine-Westphalia and, from 2000 to 2017, State Treasurer of the CDU's Local Political Association (KPV) in North Rhine-Westphalia. From December 1999 to October 2017 he was also a member of the Federal Main Committee of the KPV in Germany.

Social Commitment

Böckelühr has been chairman of the German Red Cross local association Schwerte eV since June 2000. Since the Hans Hache Foundation has been recognized by the Arnsberg district government's foundation supervision with a certificate dated May 6, 2004, he has been its chairman. The Hans Hache Foundation promotes and supports handicapped children up to the age of 18 who were born in the city of Schwerte or who live there.

Private

Heinrich Böckelühr is married, has two daughters and lives in Schwerte.
