Heinrich Braendlin

Heinrich Braendlin (also Brändlin ) (* 1777 in Stäfa ; † June 7, 1848 , different year of birth: 1778) was a Swiss politician and businessman .

Life

Heinrich Braendlin was born as the son of Hans Jakob Braendlin (1734-1808), who was a butcher, sun host and mayor in Stäfa. He had three other brothers: Rudolf (1780–1837), Johannes Braendlin (1783–1860) and Jakob .

In his youth he lived with his brothers in France for a few years . In the first decade of the 19th century he became the mayor elected by Stafa. Together with Johann Kaspar Pfenninger and Johannes Braendlin, Jakob Dändliker, Johannes Hegetschweiler , Unterervogt Rudolf Rebmann (1759–1837) and Hans Heinrich Ryffel (1804–1880) as well as other founding members, he founded the reading society in Stäfa in 1819 , which still exists today. In 1823 he was appointed a member of the Grand Council, also known as the " Council of Two Hundred ", in Zurich and in 1832 he was appointed to the government council , which he held until 1844.

Heinrich Braendlin was also very successful in the business sector, so he founded the Brändlin spinning mill in Stäfa together with his brothers .
