Heinrich Conrad Huch
Heinrich Conrad Huch (born December 23, 1850 in Quedlinburg ; † June 26, 1931 ibid) was a German publisher and bookseller and founder and honorary member of the Harz Club .
Life
The Quedlinburg publisher Huch made many contributions to the cultural life of his hometown, including the reorganization of the historical library of the city of Quedlinburg and the creation of a catalog, which he shared as a member of the "Committee for Art and Science" formed in spring 1893 carried out with Professor Selmar Kleemann. He ran his publishing bookstore in Bockstrasse 12 in Quedlinburg. Above all, however, he was the founder of the Harz Club, together with railway director Albert Schneider and chief forestry officer Carl Reuss , whose main board later made him an honorary member. Until 1928, Huch was the club's secretary and editor-in-chief of the “Der Harz” magazine for many years. He was instrumental in the publication of a comprehensive map of the Harz Mountains, which was decided at the general meeting in Roßla in 1904.
