Heinrich Ernst zu Stolberg

Count Heinrich Ernst zu Stolberg (* July 20, 1593 in Schwarza ; † April 4, 1672 in Ilsenburg ) was the founder of the older main line of the Count's House of Stolberg .

Heinrich Ernst was the eldest son of Count Christoph zu Stolberg. From 1639 he was ruling count of the Stolberg possessions together with his younger brother Johann Martin zu Stolberg . On May 31, 1645 both shared the property. Heinrich Ernst received the County of Wernigerode and the Hohnstein Forest.

Heinrich Ernst moved the residence from Wernigerode to Ilsenburg . On May 2, 1649, he married Countess Anna Elisabeth, the daughter of Count Heinrich Volrad zu Stolberg, with whom he had two sons, Ernst zu Stolberg and Ludwig Christian zu Stolberg.
