Haslinde's works were published in 1923 in the Castroper Stadtanzeiger and in the years 1927–1929 in the Castrop-Rauxeler Volkszeitung . Even before that, and also in later years, the poet's poems and other publications appeared at irregular intervals in the local press and in homeland newspapers.

Haslinde wrote, among other things, the epic Der Stadtpfeifer and the novel From Eulenspiegel's Sex , as well as a number of home memories, short stories and poems associated with different places in the city of Castrop, but not always historically authentic. His farmhand songs echo that enthusiasm for war that is difficult to understand for today's readers, but which was common to the volunteers of those days. In addition, Haslinde's work also contains numerous vivid descriptions of Castrop, his surroundings and the life of his citizens in the late 19th and early 20th centuries.
