Heinrich Herm

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Heinrich Herm , pseudonym for Henri Legras (born September 28, 1882 in Rouen , † November 1, 1948 in Freiburg im Üechtland ), was a French lawyer and writer.

Life

Herm came from an old upper class family. He studied law in France and successfully completed this course with a doctorate . He then completed his habilitation and was appointed professor for law and legal history in Friborg (Switzerland) in 1912 .

In 1914 he married the German citizen Gertrud Schlesinger and settled with her in Delley- Portalban . In addition to his scientific work, Herm began to work literarily and was able to debut in 1926 with his novel Dome im Feuer . In it he addressed - under the impression of the First World War - a possible peace in Europe and especially the reconciliation of France with Germany.

When Herm died on November 1, 1948 at the age of 66, he was almost forgotten as a writer, although his first publications had just been praised by the public and official literary critics.
