Heinrich Himmelbahnen

Heinrich Himmelträger (born November 23, 1848 in Hamburg ; † March 12, 1920 there ) was a German insurance manager. Himmelhub was director of the Hamburger Feuerkasse , the oldest insurance company in the world , from 1888 to 1920 .

Life

Himmelhub was born in Hamburg in 1848 as the son of a businessman and attended the high school. From 1864 to 1866 he trained as a construction technician. He then studied engineering until 1870 at the Polytechnic in Karlsruhe .

After Himmelträger served in the Franco-German War , he found employment as a construction manager for the Geeststammsiel.

In 1888, Himmelberger was appointed director of the Hamburger Feuerkasse. He created the estimation system and the statistical basis for determining the insurance premiums. He was also active in specialist representations and committees. Until his death in 1920 he was director of the Hamburger Feuerkasse.
