Heinrich Lochner

Heinrich Lochner (born December 19, 1899 in Vienna ; died September 8, 1943 in Berlin-Plötzensee ) was an Austrian tram driver and resistance fighter against National Socialism . He was sentenced to death by the Nazi regime and beheaded.

life and work

Lochner was one of the staff at the Speising depot. From autumn 1940 to October 1942 he paid contributions to the KPÖ and passed on communist pamphlets. He was arrested on November 18, 1942, sentenced to death by the People's Court on August 25, 1943 for alleged treason and favoring the enemy and executed two weeks later in Berlin-Plötzensee on September 8, 1943 at 01:05 a.m.

Commemoration

His name can be found on the memorial plaque of the memorial for the Hietzingen tramers beheaded by the Nazi regime in front of the tram depot at Speisinger Strasse 188, dedicated to him and to the resistance fighters Emil König , Max Schrems and Hedwig Urach , who were also executed by the Nazi regime .
