Heinrich Meuffels

Heinrich Meuffels (born April 18, 1927 in Birgden , † February 14, 2015 in Geilenkirchen ) was a German politician and party official. From 1966 to 1990 he sat for the CDU as a member of the North Rhine-Westphalian state parliament .

Life

After attending elementary school and high school, he served in the war from the end of 1943 to 1945 and then in British captivity until autumn 1945. He graduated from high school in 1949. After a year of workshop work as a carpenter, he went to the University of Bonn to study Catholic theology, sports, geography and art . In 1954 he passed the state examination for teaching at secondary schools.

Since 1948 he was a member of the CDU. From 1956 to 1958 he was deputy district chairman of the CDU, and from 1965 to 1985 chairman of the CDU of the Heinsberg district. Since 1985 he was honorary chairman of the CDU district party.

Meuffels was married and the father of ten children.
