Heinrich Multscher

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Heinrich Multscher (* around 1400 in Reichenhofen , today in Leutkirch im Allgäu ; † date unknown, probably in Ulm ) was a German sculptor and brother of the better-known Hans Multscher . He belongs to the founding generation of the Ulm School .

After years of apprenticeship in his homeland in Allgäu, Heinrich Multscher worked as a sculptor and probably also as a painter at the side of his brother in Ulm. So far, it has been assumed that there has been a strong involvement in the major orders that were processed in the “Hans Multscher” workshop; individual attributions dare to identify the independent hand of this brother, especially in the works of the Ulm Minster . Otherwise, much of what was described under Hans Multscher applies in terms of style.
