from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Heinrich Ohlwein (born June 6, 1898 in Kassel ; † June 12, 1969 there ) was a German painter .

Life

Ohlwein lived in Kassel and was a bank clerk and painter by profession . He was a private student of the painter Friedrich Fennel . Both regularly visited the Willingshausen painters' colony in the Schwalm in the 1920s . Ohlwein wanted to perfect his skills in genre and landscape painting in Willingshausen, he mostly painted landscapes from the region around Kassel. Ohlwein painted paintings in every season, regardless of whether the sun is shining, it is storming or it is snowing. The play of light and shadow that can be seen on the tree trunks and branches of the "Hutebuchen bei Willingshausen" enlivens the representation. The cut and the colors of nature refer to the art of painting. He was a member of the artist group Die Hessen .
