Heinrich Rauscher (local history researcher, 1891)

Heinrich Rauscher (born June 26, 1891 in Engelbrechts (municipality of Kautzen) , † November 29, 1960 in Stein an der Donau ) was an Austrian pedagogue, school director and local researcher.

Life

He attended elementary school in Kautzen, then the Unterrealgymnasium Waidhofen and the Stiftsgymnasium Seitenstetten and graduated in 1913. He then studied German, classical philology and history in Innsbruck and Vienna. From 1921 he taught German and Latin at various grammar schools in Lower Austria and was most recently director of the federal teacher training institute in Krems, today's Church Pedagogical University of Vienna / Krems .

From 1952 to 1959 he was the sole editor for the quarterly magazine Das Waldviertel of the Waldviertler Heimatbund . In 1954 he was appointed councilor.

In addition to his job, he was a folklorist and local researcher, as his numerous contributions prove, including German articles such as B. on the Waidhofner Gregorius fragment 1927 in the magazine for German antiquity and German literature .
