Heinrich Salfeldt (* 1708 ; † January 17, 1784 in Quedlinburg ) was councilor of the abbess of Quedlinburg, Amalie of Prussia , heir, feudal lord and court lord of Kleinlauchstädt as well as merchant and merchant in the city of Quedlinburg.

Life

He comes from a respected middle-class family from Quedlinburg. A close relative, the treasurer Röttiger Salfeldt, had the Salfeldtsche Palais built for himself and the family in Quedlinburg, which is still preserved today as a listed Baroque building. Heinrich Salfeldt himself is listed as taxable for the property at Stieg 4 in 1739 , in 1751 for Stieg 3 and around 1760 for Breite Straße 44 . In addition, he was taxable for the property at Weberstrasse 42 in Quedlinburg Neustadt at least in 1748 .

After a successful activity as a merchant and trader in Quedlinburg, in contrast to his Quedlinburg relatives, he also orientated himself outside this monastery town in the Harz foreland , namely in the Merseburg bishopric , which belonged to the Electorate of Saxony . He took advantage of the opportunity to purchase a man-arm knight's estate for sale in the monastery area through a straw man. It was the manor Kleinlauchstädt , a suburb of the official city of Lauchstädt , which he took over in 1764. He mainly used the manor for investments. Although he reserved some living quarters, he leased the estate for most of the time. So it is not surprising that shortly after his death his children sold this manor again for financial reasons.

Heinrich Salfeldt died on January 17, 1784 in Quedlinburg and was buried three days later in the St. Benedicti churchyard.
