Heinrich Schlumpf (politician)

Heinrich Schlumpf (born May 17, 1702 in St. Gallen ; † September 1, 1783 ibid) was a Swiss politician and mayor of St. Gallen ( Switzerland ).

Life

Heinrich Schlumpf was the son of Hermann Schlumpf, pastor in the town church of St. Laurenzen , and his wife Sabina Dorothea Fels.

From 1745 he was guild master of the tailors' guild, in the same year he was appointed grenadier captain and held the offices of mayor , former mayor and imperial bailiff every three years from 1764 to 1783 (alternating with Daniel Högger and Hans Joachim Steinmann ). From 1766 to 1777 he was delegate to the Diet several times.

Heinrich Schlumpf married Maria Elisabetha, daughter of Friedrich Züblin, sub-mayor in St. Gallen in 1729.
