Heinrich Siemens

Heinrich Siemens (* 1964 in Sigulda , Latvia ) is a German German philologist and Plautdietsch researcher.

life and work

Siemens was born in Sigulda in Latvia in 1964 and came to Germany in 1975. There he studied mathematics, philosophy and German. He worked at the University of Bonn (assistant to Peter Pütz ) and is mainly involved in Plautdietsch research. Siemens sits as a representative of the Plautdietsch in the Federal Council for Low German and has been President of the Plautdietsch Friends since 2007 . Until 2011 he was editor-in-chief of the magazine Plautdietsch FRIND . In autumn 2007, Siemens founded Tweeback Verlag , which publishes the author Rudy Wiebe and books on the subject of Plautdietsch, among others .

In 2011 he received his doctorate with a thesis on Plautdietschen at the University of Bonn.
