During the Burgundian Wars, Strübin captured a bowl from Nancy as Feldzeugmeister in 1477. "Heinrich Strübin" is engraved on the sword blade. On the west side of the fountain is the inscription "Nancy 1477" because Heini Strübin von Liestal took part in the Battle of Nancy and captured the famous Burgundy bowl. The fountain figure holds a long sword and the mentioned bowl in his hands. The fountain and figure are reminiscent of two important events in the city of Liestal in the Middle Ages and in modern times.
