Heinrich Ungeradin

Heinrich Ungeradin (born before 1371; died after 1382) was a Gdańsk architect and builder who was involved in the construction of important Gdańsk buildings such as the town hall and St. Mary's Church .

Life

His birth and death dates are unknown. In the Danzig documents he was mentioned as a master builder in 1371. In 1379 he was officially named the city's first master builder. He supervised all urban construction projects.

On March 6, 1379, Odessa signed a contract with the priests of the Gdańsk Marienkirche on the design and implementation of the reconstruction of the church. Under his direction, the outer walls were raised, a nave and a gallery were built, and chapels were built between the buttresses . The previous basilica was converted into a hall church.

His main work was the construction of the right town hall , 1379-1382 the western side wing and the town hall tower were built. In accordance with the requirements of the Kulm Law , rooms were created for the municipal scales and the customs office. The ceiling above the ground floor was demolished and partitions removed, creating a large council chamber.

1379–1382 Heinrich Ungeradin rebuilt the Artushof Danzig . He also took part in the renovation of the Gdańsk city walls and supervised the construction of the tower .
