Heinrich Walter (clergyman)

Heinrich Walter ISch (born June 14, 1954 ) is a German Roman Catholic clergyman and Schoenstatt Father . From 2003 to 2015 he was Superior General of the Secular Institute of the Schoenstatt Fathers and thus also Chairman of the General Presidium of the international Schoenstatt Movement .

As a member of the Secular Institute of the Schoenstatt Fathers, he was ordained a priest on July 6, 1985 and initially worked in youth work for the Schoenstatt male youth .

Until 2003 he was Provincial Superior of the Sion Province of the Schoenstatt Fathers and Chairman of the Schoenstatt Family in Germany.

On August 13, 2003 he was elected Superior General by the General Chapter of the Schoenstatt Fathers for a term of 12 years.

In October 2012, he took part as a delegate at the 13th Ordinary General Assembly of the Synod of Bishops on “ New Evangelization for the Transmission of the Faith” and spoke about the role of the family in the new evangelization.
