Heinrich Wottawa

Heinrich Wottawa (* 1948 in Mödling , Austria ) is an Austrian psychologist and entrepreneur . From 1977 to 2013 he was professor for psychological methodology , diagnostics and evaluation at the Ruhr University Bochum . In addition, he was the founder and managing director of a company for psychological personnel software.

Life

Wottawa studied psychology in connection with mathematics at the University of Vienna . In 1971 he received his doctorate from the University of Vienna, and in 1974 he completed his habilitation in psychology at the University of Heidelberg . He worked at the Ford Institute in Vienna in the field of traffic psychological diagnostics, was head of the computer center of the Kuratorium für Verkehrssicherheit (KfV) in Vienna and the computer center of the German Institute for International Educational Research in Frankfurt / Main.

At the University of Heidelberg Wottawa was in 1975 Scientific Council and Professor. In 1977 he was appointed to the chair for psychological methodology, diagnostics and evaluation at the Ruhr University in Bochum . Since 2002, one focus has been on training business psychologists for bachelor and master degrees . Wottawa has also been advising administrations and companies on issues of data analysis, aptitude diagnostics , personnel and organizational development since 1983 . He has written books, book chapters and articles in specialist journals on these topics. He retired in 2013 .

In addition to his professorship, from 1990 he was the scientific director of the "Personnel Developer" course at the German Employees Academy (DAA) in Dortmund. In 1999 he became head of the business psychology department with a focus on aptitude diagnostics, personnel and organizational development at the newly founded Akademie der Ruhr-Universität gGmbH, a provider of academic training organized under private law . In the same year he became managing partner of the ELIGO psychologische Personalsoftware GmbH, which he founded, who developed the software for personnel selection processes and for the choice of subjects for school leavers, among other things. After retiring from the management, Wottawa remained in the company as a Scientific Advisory Board.
