Heinrich von Frauenberg (* 1257 , † 1314 ) was one of the barons at Gutenberg Castle during the High Middle Ages .

Life

Heinrich von Frauenberg came from a Graubünden family whose ancestral castle was Frauenberg Castle near Ruschein . Heinrich left Graubünden in 1290 and came to Gutenberg Castle near Balzers in Liechtenstein . He owned this together with Ulrich von Gutenberg (not the minstrel Ulrich von Gutenburg ).

Heinrich led a life as a combative warrior. This proves the participation in the conspiracy (with the participation of Ulrich von Gutenberg), whose victim was Duke Albrecht near Königsfelden. He was also a minstrel and is immortalized in the Manessische Liederhandschrift ( Codex Manesse ) with five songs (see picture).

coat of arms

His coat of arms shows a golden griffin upright in the blue field , with a red tongue and armored in red.

On August 16, 1956, Balzers was given a new coat of arms by Prince Franz Josef II of Liechtenstein , that of the Barons von Frauenberg.
