Heinrich von Ryssel

Heinrich von Ryssel (born January 4, 1594 in Leipzig ; † May 7, 1640 ibid) was a German merchant and councilor in the trade fair city of Leipzig.

Life

Ryssel's father of the same name was a trader in Leipzig. He initially took over the schooling of his son, but then handed it over to private teachers. Ryssel studied at the University of Jena and went on a study trip through Germany, France and Holland.

In 1615 he returned to Leipzig and took over his father's trade, at the same time he continued his studies at the University of Leipzig . In 1622 he went on an educational trip through Italy, after the end of which he married Rosina Pöckel, the daughter of the Leipzig council builder and master hammer Enoch Pöckel , on May 10, 1624 .

In 1637 he was elected to the City Council of Leipzig.

Heinrich von Ryssel died at the age of 46. A printed funeral sermon was published on the occasion of his funeral .
