Heinrichsgrün is a suburban settlement in the Debschwitz district of the independent city of Gera in Thuringia , it is located between the White Elster and the wooded Hainberg in the west of the city. Handelplatz is located in the center of the settlement, and the other paths and streets were also named after composers.

Heinrichsgrün was the first garden city in Thuringia to emerge from 1912 according to plans by Clemens Weisker . By 1930, 186 private homes had been built as single, terraced and group houses with garden plots of 100 to 400 m² garden area.

The name Heinrichsgrün was chosen with care and refers to the green of the horticultural settlement and the guiding name "Heinrich" of the Princes of Reuss , who used this first name for 800 years.
